In the fall of 2016 the desire struck me to get out of what would be freezing cold Pennsylvania over winter and head somewhere warmer for a few days. An opportunity presented itself (cheap plane ticket) and a return trip to Costa Rica was planned for mid-January. I had been once before, covering some 1,600km by car with three friends over 10 days, but this would be a solo trip and much more laid back. Having been before, there were a few spots I wanted to revisit and new ones I sought out, but in the end the majority of the trip was to relax on the beach in the warm weather and clear my head. Arriving in Libera, I got the Suzuki Jimny rental and headed south, using a small Airbnb in Los Pargos, about five minutes from Playa Negra as my base. Each morning I’d wake and head to the beach, grab lunch after a few hours, then decide on another beach to view the evenings sunset, then find dinner. These photos were taken on Playa Negra, Nosara, Playa Avellanas, and Playa Danta, where I lost my sunglasses.
